Your posts are warmly welcome!
Passed yesterday 927. Passing score is 790/1000. 55 questions.
I used dump Cisco Lead2Pass 640-864 v2012-04-29 261q.vce and read the Cisco Press book, and the “quick reference sheets”.
A lot of DnD questions, almost all that are mentionned in this site.
Some questions about Datacenter 3.0 (maybe 5 or 6).
Thanks alot Anonymous and Comtel.
Thats great information you know.
Anonymous, were there many new qtns? If so about how many?
passed yesterday 868, 5-6 new DnD questions
Passed Today with 912, btn 5-8 new qtns. Especially data center 3.0. You need to have read well. Used lead2pass also. Some new DnD qtns also. Thanks Guys and God Bless You.
Passed today, 941… Lead2pass dumb is valid, maybe 4-5 new qtns, including 2 DnD`s…
Any links for study material
@David congratulations
How many DnD questions you got in the exam.Total DnD questions ?
Teachers are perceived as exeprts in their field for good reason. It takes skill to be able to teach, as well as knowledge and patience. I come from a family of teachers and I have a great deal of respect for what they do. I think being able to put teaching experience on your resume is a very good idea. It makes me think of maturity and mastery.
Taking exam today… hopefully leave you a feedback…
good luck Tom
any one interested in CCda OR ANY OTHER CISCO COURSES CAN SEND ME QUERIES VIA http://www.avitechnohome.com. Please include u r phone number and from which country u are
planning to take exam in 2 weeks..
can u please suggest more on the dnd questions
Please help ! What is a dump valid ?
Planned exam on Monday. Studied https://www.dstut.com and Lead2Pass dump, good luck to me.
Confusion about answers to this question.
Which three pieces of information should be documented for each step of each phase in a design implementation plan? (Choose three.)
A.
easy guidelines in case of failure
B.
estimated rollback time in case of failure
C.
simple implementation guidelines
D.
estimated implementation time
E.
design document references
F.
step description
CCDA 640-864 Official Cert Guide Chapter 1 Page 14 states, “Each step in the implementation should includes a description, detailed implementation guidelines, estimated time to implement, rollback steps in case of a failure, and any additional reference information.”
So to me answers B, D, E, and F are correct but are only supposed to pick 3. Option C is not correct becuase it states “easy” when the book states “detailed” and doesnt mention answer A at all.
Here is another one that is somewhat confusing:
In a Cisco CatOS switch, what is the recommended practice when configuring switch-to-switch intercommunications to carry multiple VLANs for Dynamic Trunk Protocol?
A.
auto to auto_negotiate
B.
disable Dynamic Trunk Protocol when operating in the distribution layer
C.
auto to auto_no_negotiate
D.
desirable to desirable_no_negotiate
E.
on to on_negotiate
F.
desirable to desirable_negotiate
According to page 96 of the CCDA cert: Access layer best practices include set trunks to ON and ON with no-negotiate. However the question did mentioned CatOS and according to the documentation listed above from Senior, Cisco recommends an explicit trunk configuration of desirable at both ends. In this mode, network operators can trust syslog and command line status messages that a port is up and trunking, unlike on mode, which can make a port appear up even though the neighbor is misconfigured. In addition, desirable mode trunk provides stability in situations where one side of the link cannot become a trunk or drops trunk state.
This is the link for CatOS:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps4324/products_tech_note09186a0080094713.shtml#vlan_trunking_protocol
Here is another question where the answer was wrong in the dumps. I did the calculations and came up with 9 calls. I believe the dumps had 11 calls as the answer.
Given a VoIP network with these attributes:
Codec: G.711
WAN bandwidth: 768Kbps
Packet Header: 6 bytes
Payload: 160 bytes
CRTP: No
How many calls can be made?
A.
7 calls
B.
13 calls
C.
8 calls
D.
9 calls
E.
11 calls
G.711 uses 64 kbps codec bit rate
IP/UDP/RTP header = 40 bytes
6+40+160 = 206 bytes * (8 bits/byte) = 1648 bits
default voice payload = 160 bytes * (8 bits/bytes) = 1280 bits
PPS = 64 kpbs/1280 bits = 64,000/1280 = 50 pps
BW per call = 1648 (bits/packet) * 50 (pps) = 82400 bps = 82.4 kpbs
768 kpbs / 82.4 kpbs = 9.3 or 9 calls
Here is another one that is conflicting. The VCEs say Distribution but the pictures clear showing the modules connecting to the Core.
When designing using the Cisco Enterprise Architecture, in which Enterprise Campus layer do the Enterprise Edge and Enterprise WAN modules establish their connection?
A.
Building Access
B.
Building Distribution
C.
Campus Core
D.
Enterprise Branch
E.
Enterprise Data Center
I believe the answer is the Campus Core, however I can see where some of the confusion is coming from becuase in the book on page 42, it talks about some of the rolls of the Distribution layer and one is aggregation of WAN connections.
Here is another one that seems to be wrong as well.
At which stage in the PPDIOO process would you analyze a customer’s network in order to discover opportunities for network improvement?
A.
Operate
B.
Implement
C.
Plan
D.
Design
E.
Prepare
F.
Design Assessment
I think the answer is C: Plan Phase.
The plan phase characterizes sites and assesses the network, performs a gap analysis against best-pratice architectures, and look at the operational environment.
Passed with 883. There are around 10 questions I have never seen.
New questions.
Which three modules would typically utilize public IPv4 addressing ?

Physical networks and equipment set
The evolution of the Data Center is best represented by the 3.0 architecture component of virtualization. Which of the following is not an example of the virtualization taking place in the Data Center ?
a) VLANs and VSANs provide for virtualized LAN and SAN connectivity, separating physical networks and equipment into virtual entities.
b) Virtual machines that run on application within the client operating system, is future virtualized and running on common hardware.
c) Storage devices virtualized into Storage pools, and network devices are virtualized using device contexts
d) virtualized media access utilizing Fibre Channel over Ethernet.
I passed the exam today with a 912. Master, I got those same 3 questions plus 1 more DnD. So I had 4 new questions. Dont know if I got them right or not since Cisco does not tell us which questions we get wrong. Would be nice to know but will continue studying. Off to start working on my CCNP and CCDP. Later dudes……………
@Chad congratulations ,please can you tell which dump did you use.what is the correct answer on the above new questions ?.I planning to take my exam in 2 weeks, any suggestions ?Thanks in advance
I passed the CCDA exam today. I have finished within half hour only. but unfortunately they are not provide the review option. much more times is there, so i feel to review before end examination, if any mistakes or not to my answered questions. but they are not allocated these kind of options…. so guys please check one or two times u gave correct answer or not, then only go to next button….otherwise u will get much more tension after finish ur examination…. :-(

@ All who have passed exam
Could you please let us all know which dumps and material you have used to pass your exam, and if there is anything new or useful that would help other’s pass would be really appreciated.
Thnx
I am looking for CBT Nuggets for this exam, could someone pass me the link for it??
I could not anything yet :(
Wishing you the best luck and thanks for it.

Thanks Annie, but it for old CCDA (640-863); I am just wondering if there is any new CBT series for 640-864.
cheers
Which of these statements is true concerning the data center access layer design?
A. The access layer in the data center is typically built at Layer 3, which allows for better shaping of services across multiple servers.
B. With Layer 2 access, the default gateway for the servers can be configured at the access or aggregation layer.
C. A dual-homing NIC requires a VLAN or trunk between the two access switches to support the dual IP address on the two server links to two separate switches.
D. The access layer is normally not required, as dual homing is standard from the servers to the aggregation layer.
The two NICs might use a common
MAC address, or they might use two distinct MAC addresses and rely on gratuitous ARP
to provide proper IP–to–MAC address mapping on switches when the backup interface
card is activated. With a redundant NIC, a VLAN is needed between the two access
switches to support single IP on the two server links.

Does anybody else think the answer in the dumps is wrong and it is (C)?

I agree it’s (D)
Creating a Draft Design Document
After thoroughly examining the existing network, the designer creates a draft design document.
Figure 2-16 illustrates a draft design document’s index (not yet fully developed),
including the section that describes the existing network. The “Design Requirements”
and “Existing Network Infrastructure” sections of the design document are closely related.
They examine the existing network, which can result in changes to the “Design
Requirements” section. Data from both sections directly influences the network’s design.
Figure 2-16 Draft Design Document Index
Draft Design Document
1. Design Requirements
2. Existing Network Infrastructure
2.1. Network Topology
2.2. Network Audit
(Customer Input – Network Audit – Traffic Analysis)
2.3. Applications Used in theNetwork
2.4. Network Health Analysis
(Analysis and recommendations based on collected information and the requirements of the design)
2.5. Recommended Changesto the Existing Network

Addendum to my above post. I’m Confused… I HATE questions like this….
Which of these statements is true concerning the data center access layer design?
‘With Layer 2 access, the default gateway for the servers can be configured at the access layer or the aggregation layer.’
From: page 206 Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN) Foundation Learning
Guide
I hate when there are two office Cisco books, (not that the extra knowledge isn’t good) but now you have to reed both books to find the nit-picking answers…
So is it (B) or (C).
Is (B) wrong because of (‘or trunk’ between the two access) – Trunks carry VLANS but can be pruned.
Addendum to the Addendum… I didn’t read the answers closely….
C. A dual-homing NIC requires a VLAN or trunk between the two access switches to support the dual IP address on the two server links to two separate switches.
There is only ONE IP ADDRESS for the dual NIC’s!! (B) is correct (C) is wrong….
Which three modules would typically utilize public IPv4 addressing ?
a) Branch Data Center
b) Access
c) Internet connectivity
d) Core
e) Data Center
f) E-commerce
g) Remote Access/VPN
h) WAN/MAN
i) Distribution
j) Branch
Private IP addresses are typically used throughout the enterprise network, except in the following places:
■ The Internet connectivity module, where public IP addresses are used for Internet connections and public accessible servers
■ The e-commerce module, where public IP addresses are used for the database, application, and web servers
■ The remote access and Virtual Private Network (VPN) module, where public IP addresses
can be used for selected connections

@ All
Recently passed exam use the 640-864 pdf dump found on certcollection.org. Most questions come from there, only new ones i encoutered were a few virtualization questtions, but they all come from the offical guide, so study that and all will be good.
Thanks and good luck to all
