you made the version 2.1 from 640 – 864
Hello guys,
Why I can’t find any latest official CCDA guide in pdf for download?
Does anyone have printed version? If I’m correct, in attached CD should be also pdf version of book. Please share it ;). Thanks
hi guys. anyone attempted the new CCDA paper? please share if dumps are available.
hi guys who had taken the new version 640-864,
Thanks for letting us know that the answers on p4s/AT/etc are incorrect, but my point is: How bout the Questions? Are they same? (means Do they occur exactly when you take the exam?) If they are same, so we can study and discuss the questions at here and not just remember the answers…
Cheers
as my review guides me, i think that the questions are totally different
i think we will need to update the questions….

@here… have you given the exam??? have you passed? what was your score…???
I have passed 640-864 on July 2.My score is 868 and i study the exam of actualtests, have about three new questions.
Hi, winer406
hab some lab sim ?
What about this question?
Drag the WAN characteristic on the left to the branch office model where it would most likely be used on the right.
LEFT:
redundant devices
MPLS deployment model
redundant links
redundant links and devices
private WAN deployment
internet deployment model
RIGHT:
Small Office
__
__
Medium Office
__
__
Large Office
__

i think the new dump for 864 given here is invalid.. most questions are the same.. a guy who failed accidentally using the old dump for 683 said that 70% questions are new
i think the new dump for 864 given here is invalid..
most questions are the same..
a guy who failed accidentally using the old dump for 863 said that 70% questions are new
@here:
i think,
Small Office:
redundant links
internet deployment
Medium Office
redundant devices
MPLS deployment
Large Office
redundant links & devices
private WAN
but i don’t know why some said private WAN match medium branch
This is the right answer:
Small Office:
redundant links
internet deployment
Medium Office
redundant links & devices
private WAN
Large Office
redundant links & devices
MPLS
Open and read from p. 248 of the CCDA 640-864 Official Cert Guide from ciscopress.
@AlexTee
Strange. There are no ‘redundant devices’? Twice ‘redundant links & devices’.
uploading latest actual test dump…

@alextee: great man
How bout DND of security provision regarding hierarchical layer?
Access layer:
Protect network services againts IP, ARP, and DHCP Spoofing
Protect againts inadvert loops
Distributiion Layer:
Protect endpoints using NIDS
best NFP practices
Core layer:
filter and rate limit control plane traffic
does not perform security function to mitigate transit threats
is this right answer? anyone can explain?
http://www.mediafire.com/?xjh3xixhz9gyx
Hope it works now..
if Anybody has the CCDA 640-864 cert guide by cisco press, please share this….i really want the book….
@here yes, exactly, the “redundant links & devices” box is used twice. There are no redundant devices without redundant links. This question is also on Boson ExSim 640-864 simulator, and there it is stated clearly, that some boxes can be used more than once.
@aaa yep, seems the answer is correct! Check out access and distribution layers’ security guidelines here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Security/SAFE_RG/chap5.html#wp1090765
Core layer is not listed in the doc, but generally, core layer should not perform any packet manipulation. I hope, this question is not on real exam, as it doesn’t comply with cert guide material.
@AlexTee Many thanks for clarification!!!
@aaa
Access layer:
Protect endpoints using network based intrusion prevention
Protect against inadvertent loops
Distribution Layer:
Filter and rate limit control plane traffic
Protect network services against DHCP, ARP IP Spoofing
Core layer:
Does not perform security function to mitigate transit threats
Protect the infrastructure using best NFP practices
anybody have link dump ccda
hey guys!
Some questions the link http://www.mediafire.com/?xjh3xixhz9gyx are different from other tests.
I believe this is the correct dump.
Can anyone give an opinion?
hello everybody,
please, i’m looking for PDF book for the new CCDA 640-864
Having read http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=1717681&seqNum=2
does the followings the correct answer?
DND data center:
Space:
amount of racks, equipment, cabling, people
Weight Load:
rack vs blade
Power:
variability of computing load, power, and memory
Cooling:
rack face2face or back2back
Cabling:
abundant, variable, well organized
Security:
disaster, fire, alarm
and also this question:
There are number of advantages to using virtualization wihtin DC module. which of the following are two samples of these advantages: (choose 2)
– Virtualization consolidates many low performance devices into a few high performance device
– Virtualization separates user via different physical networks, into group with visibility into their only logical network
Any opinion?
@aaa first question is really weird! Me too was thinking a lot for the right answers, but still not sure in the correct selection. The questionable boxes are Space and Weight Load. On one hand, the “amount of racks, equipment, cabling, people” factors are the drivers for Space, but not Weight Load consideration, since people are generally not taken into account when calculating floor load limit, but on the other hand, blade servers need less space and power, but it is nowhere mentioned that they indeed have to weigh less than rack ones!
I chose this, thought I know, it is not accurate too:
Space:
rack vs blade
Weight Load:
amount of racks, equipment, cabling, people
For the second questions first choice is right, but second is not, because you must use VLANs, but not physical networks to separate users’ traffic.
@aaa thought=though
@aaa Basically, there two types of Device Virtualization:
1. Consolidation of many physical devices into one logical cluster.
2. Virtualization of one physical platform into several logical devices, sharing the same physical platform resouces.

Hello everybody
Any body wants to share the CCDA 640-864 Official Cert Guide????
thank you very much!!
I’ve looked everyone for the official cert guide… can’t find it anywhere.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kyle
That’s a fairly new publication, recently made available on Amazon..not sure you will be able to get a digital copy so soon. Purchased my copy today

Kyle—-> you could have gone for kindle edition which is 10 -15 buck cheaper and would have done the entire community a favor…
Hi AlexTee !
The questions of the Boson simulator ExSim 640-864 are similar to the link http://www.mediafire.com/?xjh3xixhz9gyx ?
when will be the CCDA cert guide be available… please share.
Hi guys,
I just passed CCDA 2.1 today with the score of 941. I would like to share a new D&D question:
SNMP
RMON
CDP
NetFlow
Define how information is exchange between network management application and agent
Run on Datalink Layer and using multicast
Provide full network Visibility from physical layer to Application Layer
Process Larger ACL efficiently for packet filtering and security devices
During the exam, I matched as below:
SNMP -> Define how information is exchange between network management application and agent
RMON-> Provide full network Visibility from physical layer to Application Layer
CDP ->Run on Datalink Layer and using multicast
Netflow -> Process Larger ACL efficiently for packet filtering and security devices
Hope this help! :-)
Note: Above is the new drag and drop question, i did it based on what i have learned. I don’t know it is right or wrong. Please ensure the answer by yourself and Good luck for the exam. Cheer!
Regards,
Zorro
Two New questions:
1/ Below answers, what is the security management for threat detection and mitigation?
A.802.1X
B.ACL in the Core Layer
C.Cisco MARS
D.Cisco Firewall Service Module
I choose: C. Cisco MARS because it is one of the threat detection and mitigation
2/ What is the different of Core to distribution and access?
Sorry for second question, i can’t remember it correctly. But what i can tell is i choose C. Campus Core is optional.
Good day everyone!
Regards,
Zorro
Zorro which dump did you use to study?
Zorro-> plz tell us abt study guide , dump u used for this exam…
hi zorro!
share your study source please!
thank’s
I ending up having my employer pay for a copy of the official guide. I requested a digital copy and would have shared it, however, they are only able to buy hard copies. Sorry guys!
Hi Zorro,
does the followings the correct answer?
Access:
Protect the endpoint using network based intrucsion prevention
Protect against inadvertent loops
Distribution:
filter and rate-limit control plane traffic
Protect network service including DHCP, ARP and IP spooling protection
Core:
Does not perform security function to mitigate transit threats

There are a number of advantages to using virtualization:
• It consolidates many low performance devices into a few high performance devices. This provides a more efficient utilization of hardware, which increases the price/performance ratio.
• It provides flexibility that makes it easier to add, reassign, or repurpose resources in the system.
• It provides better use of computing resources, higher server densities, and seamless server migrations.
• It separates users that are accessing the same physical network into groups with visibility into only their assigned logical network.
• It is able to provide distinct security policies to different departments.
