Kumar we initially think it is C, E and every one stick with that .
Q149 – Answer is Layer-2-Edge Mode – Choice B – Refer – Page 373.
Layer 2 mode:
The MAC address of the client device is used to uniquely identify
the device. This mode supports both virtual and real IP gateway operations in both
in-band and out-of-band deployments. This is the most common deployment
model for LANs.
The edge deployment model is the easiest physical deployment option to understand. The Cisco NAS is physically and logically in line to the traffic path. VLAN IDs are passed straight through the device when in virtual gateway mode. This deployment option can become complex when there are multiple access closets.
sorry for the confusion Sri i right Q 149 was Answer B .
I got this in EXAM .
@Pedram and Kumar you have not given exam yet … comon dont waste time go for exam more you wait more upset you get ..
hi burlok

you can share.
@ Kash @ Sri …thanks for your contribution sofar …can you tell how many total number of questions you got in the exam?was it 60 or 70? n how many D&D?
@Kash
For me it is next week perhaps ;-)
I got 55 qns…
The additional question are on the file also posted here
http://www.examcollection.com/cisco/Cisco.Actualtest.642-874.v2011-05-09.by.burlok.283q.vce.file.html
if you open in the editor are the last….
Burlock,
Question 19….is it A (core) or D (core and aggregation)….after reading it appears to be core only but each file has a different answer.
@lg the last file is the one with all comments from who has passed exam
@burlock,
So the first 70 from
http://www.4shared.com/document/M4VOC2XB/642-874-AT58-1Sept2011.html
and review the .vce file at

I am taking my exam next Friday and am trying to stay up to date with everything. I have finished the study guidev2 reading since the new book is not out and have began reviewing the questions. I think with those two files I should be good but I am going to keep updating up to my exam day and after the exam.
Hi all,
Today i cleared the exam, got 55 question and passing score 790, my score 846..
All questions are from AT5.8 only.. i got some new questions and one new D&D(i didn`t remember) ..overall its very good..
Design advanced enterprise campus networks — 79
Design advanced IP addressing and routing solutions for enterprise networks — 67
Design WAN services for enterprise networks – 88
Design an enterprise data center – 85
Design security services – 67
I got 50 questions from First 70 Question in AT 5.8
congrats Kumar good job …
Guy’s the exam is scaled from 300 to 1000 marks
So i think if you get 33% in a section , then this means that you got nothing right in that section
So for the first round people getting 33% in the IP section means all your questions were wrong.
good job Kumar, same as everyone else who has passed so far
low/but better on the security and IP sections
Good job Kash and Kumar….
@Kumar…did your questions come from the first 70 of AT5.8 as well
yes, i got questions from the first 70 of AT5.8…
My suggestion to all who all are planning to write the exam, please don`t wait as there is chance that paper may get change soon…so, don`t think much go head and write the exam ASAP…
QUESTION NO: 173
The VPN termination function provides the ability to connect two networks together securely over
the internet. Which of these is true of IP addressing with regard to VPN termination?
A. termination devices need routable addresses inside the VPN
B. termination devices need not routable addresses inside the VPN
C. IGP routing protocols will update their routing tables over an IPsec VPN
D. addressing designs need to allow for summarization
Answer: D
I am not sure if summarization is required for connecting 2 network. i am thinking A should be correct here ?? others please let me know what do you think?
I am taking my exam on the 12th
can someone make this file into a .vce file
http://www.4shared.com/document/zAQjuPVj/Cisco_642-873.html
I got it….
@kumar I don’t think they are changing the test anytime soon. version 2.1 went active back in late last year, and up till a few months ago you could take 2.0 of the test.
@bomby, 642_874.vce , which manual did you use?
i wrote twice, failed twice 740 out of 790.
please help…anyone!
Hi Kumar Congratulations….can you please share about D&D

A. iBGB dual horning with different iSPs puts the Enterprise at the risk of becoming a transit
network
B. iBGP requires a full mesh of eBGP peers
C. Routers will not advertise iBGP learned routers to other iBGP peers.
D. The use of route reflections or Confederation eliminate any full mesh requirement while helping
to scale iBGP
E. iGBP peers do not add any information to the AS path
ans will be AD or CE please give ur comments
AT5.8 Question Number 28 C or D please confirm
@lg. nope i didn’t.
Atish,
based on the screenshot I say D
I didn`t remember new D&D, but i can give some information…

Please clarify In QUESTION NO: 7 D&D
STP – enable spec on the edge
TRUNKS – manually prune
UDLD – use spec on fiber-optic
Etherchannel – …power of 2..
VSS – ensure that an individual link failure will not result in an STP failure.
D&D
1. Dynamic, utlizing link local multicat messages which are flodded hope by hope………Statis RP
2. Static with fault tolerance utlizing with multicast source Discovery Protocol…..Auto RP
3. Static with no inherent failover or load balancing mechanism……..BSR
4.Dynamic utlizing RP mapping agents with dense mode flooding………AnycastRP
That is correct. all the drag drop questions and answers were sent out in a separate file. Did you get it? If not I can post it again.
Hi All,
I would like to ask for some help from everyone, just like to know if anyone knows where i can download free CBT Nuggets for CCDP? CBT Nuggets 642-873? Thank you very much…

Hi Atish,
I believe you are 100% correct with the below:
I am also studying for the CCDP and am talking the exam tomorrow and just checked what you wrote with notes I have and believe its spot on;
STP – enable spec on the edge
TRUNKS – manually prune
UDLD – use spec on fiber-optic
Etherchannel – …power of 2..
VSS – ensure that an individual link failure will not result in an STP failure.
